Your fully licensed tourist guide will take you in the city center, showing you the main points of interest during transfers between local museums. The Etruscan Museum “Guarnacci” holds a large collection of archaeological findings from Villanovan age up to the late imperial Roman age. Of considerable importance are the Etruscan sarcophagi and urns, the Urn of the Spouses of the Roman period and the famous Etruscan votive statuette Ombra della Sera (Shadow of Evening). The Pinacoteca, a few steps from Piazza dei Priori, is especially famous for the renowned Deposition from the Cross by Rosso Fiorentino, but there are exposed other works of fine artists such as Signorelli, Pieter de Witte , Ghirlandaio, Taddeo di Bartolo and Neri di Bicci. The Diocesan Museum, behind the Cathedral, houses a varied collection of sacred art and vestments, but also some Roman finds and valuable paintings by Pollaiuolo, Benozzo Gozzoli, Rosso Fiorentino and Neri di Bicci, as well as a crucifix in copper by Giambologna and a bust of San Lino in glazed terracotta by Giovanni Della Robbia. The Alabaster Ecomuseum is obviously dedicated to ancient and contemporary works realized with the famous shining stone that allows processing of all kinds; inside there is also a reconstruction of a workshop with all the utensils used in manufacture alabaster.
