About the tour
Meet your local guide and walk through the amazing historic center of Florence, the Cradle of Renaissance. After a short walk along the Arno, you reach Piazza Santa Croce, where the matches of traditional Calcio Storico Fiorentino are held. Moreover you find here the homonymous church, which houses the graves of Michelangelo Buonarroti , Galileo Galilei, and Niccolò Machiavelli.
Then continue towards Piazza della Signoria, historical and political heart of Florence. So here you can admire the most famous statues of the Florentine Renaissance, including the Perseus of Benvenuto Cellini, Giambologna’s Rape of the Sabines and the copy of Michelangelo’s David. Passing alongside the Uffizi you reach Ponte Vecchio, then Piazza della Repubblica, the Forum of the city dating back to Roman period and later transformed into a market place.
In conclusion, our tour ends in the square of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, where there are also Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery with its famous bronze doors.
