Art treasures among the Sienese hills
This beautiful abbey nestled in the landscape of the Sienese hills, near Asciano, is a true discovery for art lovers. Your guide will take you into the cloister where you will see the cycle of frescoes Stories of St. Benedict by Luca Signorelli and Sodoma. The wooden choir of the church with inlays of Giovanni da Verona is very considerable, as well as the library, which was one of the main cultural centers of Tuscany in the Middle Ages. In the small art gallery, housed in the Chapter House, some plates ranging from the mid-fourteenth to the nineteenth century are exposed. Highly renowned, finally, the shop where you can buy liqueurs made with herbs produced according to the recipes of the Olivetani monks who follow the Benedictine rule
