world, starts from the city walls that still surround the old town. After meeting your fully licensed local tourist guide, take a stroll through the characteristic medieval streets to Piazza della Cisterna, the heart of San Gimignano. The square is overlooked by the most valuable buildings, although the tower-houses that give the typical appearance of the city arise everywhere. From here you reach the Collegiate Church, inside which are visible frescoes by Ghirlandaio, Benozzo Gozzoli and Taddeo di Bartolo.
