About the tour: Treasure Hunt in Volterra
Welcome to Volterra, an ancient city that boasts a thousand-year history and was a mighty city in the Etruscan age. The focus of the visit with your local guide is discovering the many treasures of the city, but with a special consideration for families and younger guests. Too often, children drag themselves bored because they don’t feel involved. This is why we decided to transform the visit of the historic center into a “treasure hunt” to involve children and teenagers.
Your guide will take you through the medieval streets of Volterra stopping by the monuments and buildings of historical and artistic interest, such as the Piazza dei Priori, the Cathedral and the Baptistery, the tower houses, the Roman Theater and the famous Etruscan Arch Gate. However, the boys will be encouraged to look for small details to solve the treasure hunt throughout the journey and in the end they will be rewarded with a gift. Your guide will also take you to discover unique corners and spectacular views, telling you local anecdotes and legends. Then you can visit an alabaster workshop where you can see how this stone is still worked today to give life to incredible luminous stone creations.
